East, West & Downtown Meriden

Availability and timing are confirmed for your address before anything is booked.

06450 and 06451 are Meriden's ZIP codes; they're postal areas, not formal neighborhood boundaries. Tell us the street address and we'll confirm coverage from that.

Around the city

East Main Street and Broad Street

Older multifamily houses and converted homes are common along these corridors. Heaters may sit in shared basements serving more than one unit — say which units are affected and who controls basement access. Landlords or property managers normally authorize work for tenants.

West Main Street and Hubbard Park

Expect a mix of older single-family homes and newer construction toward the west side. Tell the contractor about stairs, bulkhead doors or finished basements on the path to the heater — it affects how a replacement is removed and carried in.

Downtown and the Meriden Green

Apartments and mixed-use buildings around the Green may have utility closets rather than basements, plus parking limits. Note building entry, elevator or loading access. Public landmarks such as the Augusta Curtis Cultural Center (175 East Main St) help describe a location, but your own address is what's confirmed.

Practical notes for central Meriden

• Permits: new installations go through the Meriden Building Department — see permit guide.
• Gas & electric: Eversource serves Meriden (Yankee Gas is Eversource's gas company). Heat pump incentives depend on your electric account — see heat pump water heaters.
• Venting: older homes may share a chimney between the heater and boiler; changing one appliance can affect the other.
